imbra - How to Migrate Your Website to imbra Hosting

Move your website from another hosting provider to imbra. This guide covers the general migration process for any website type.

Steps

  1. Create a full backup of your website at your current host, including all files and databases.

  2. In iPanel, set up a new website by clicking Web Nodes > Manage > + New Website and selecting the appropriate platform.

  3. Upload your website files using the File Manager in iPanel or via FTP.

  4. If your website uses a database, create a new database in iPanel and import your database dump.

  5. Update your website's configuration files (e.g., database connection settings) to use the new iPanel database credentials.

  6. Update your domain's DNS records to point to the imbra server IP address.

  7. Wait for DNS propagation (up to 24-48 hours) and verify your website loads correctly.

Tip: Test your website on the new server before changing DNS by editing your local hosts file to point your domain to the imbra server IP.
